Hi Diddle Diddle
©1952 by Julie McDaniel, Arlington
66x82
My great grandmother, Daisy Carlile, was a very frugal
woman who lived through the Depression. Everything was saved and reused.
This quilt was made from scraps of pants, jackets and coats. The batting
is a World War II army blanket. She was a fine seamstress and would have
considered this quilt very utilitarian, not worthy of a show. I have always
loved this quilt and it has been well used by my family, often as a picnic
blanket. Wool suiting, hand embroidered and tied.
