No A La Incineradora

Val D'Alba, the town adjacent to where we live in Spain, was planning to build a huge incinerator which would receive and burn 300+ GIANT truckloads of garbage from all over Europe daily, polluting the entire vicinity. We joined our neighbors and friends in protest. Banners like the one at the center of the quilt were made and hung from balconies throughout the neighboring villages. Meetings and marches took place. And we WON! "No A La Incineratora" is a celebratory quilt. Hand and Machine quilted.
