The Denim Quilts - via Zoom
Sandra Lee Chandler (Johnson) is a seamstress and quilting designer/instructor who lives and works in Southern California. Born and raised in Los Angeles and Orange County, her love for all things fabric started when she was in Junior High School. Her distinctive personal style emanates joy, peace and expresses the vibrant spirit and atmosphere of her family's background with her parents both born and raised in New Orleans.
As a child Sandra was able to experience her grandmother's creativity through the amazing family quilts and clothing, she created using her own patterns. Starting in middle school Sandra was formally introduced to sewing in 7th grade home economics. Sandra wanted to learn more, and she then took a quilting class at her local quilt shop. Practice makes perfect and that is just what she did over the next several years graduating with honors in Home Economics. She attended Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ and received a B.S. Liberal Arts, Home Economics.
Sandra's work has been shown in exhibitions and publications. Today you can find Sandra on these two TV Shows, Quilting Arts and The Quilt Show. Her first love is teaching and she has taught in three countries with Israel Quilters Association, Craft Napa, and The Festival of Quilts, Birmingham, England just to name a few.
You can find her teaching her weekly quilting class online through Saddleback College where here students are always ready to learn something new. (sandrajohnsondesigns com)
